Synhydrid® Product Development
Modified Synhydrid®
Modified versions of Synhydrid® have the potential to replace numerous more dangerous reducing agents in existing products. They also have new applications for innovative drugs under approval.
Optimisation & Replacement
PRODUCT OPTIMISATION
Chematek R&D facilities have a team of PHD qualified chemists across two laboratories , dedicated to supporting Synhydrid® developments. Our fully integrated laboratory infrastructure allows for product optimisation at any stage of production.
A COST-EFFECTIVE REPLACEMENT
Modified Synhydrid® is used as a replacement for LAH. In response to more stringent safety, legal and environmental requirements, it is also a safe and cost-effective replacement for DIBAL in existing processes.

New API pathways
With customers, research institutions and academia Chematek are forging new ground to create new API pathways to meet specific demands.
A growing global concern for safety is pushing more and more customers to drop dangerous reduction processes and adopt safer solutions, whilst seeking to preserve and improve yields and economic benefits.
- No fire risk for safer manual handling
- Better throughput
- Greater selectivity under normal conditions
- Improved Cost efficiency
- Less extreme reaction temperatures
- Better yields

Expanding Knowledge
Chematek is working hand-in-hand with industry, research institutions and academia on the applications of Synhydrid®, discussing selective reductions based on modification of the ligand to replace reagents such as DIBAL and TBLAH.
“We accompany industrial stakeholders in a challenging, but necessary, switch. Demand for precise and increasingly sophisticated tools in chemistry may include a need to preserve or introduce chirality in a specific reductions step. ”
