Synhydrid® now holds full UK REACH registration. The approval secures uninterrupted, legally compliant supply of Chematek's flagship organometallic reducing agent, Sodium bis(2-methoxyethoxy)aluminium hydride, under the UK's independent post-Brexit REACH framework. UK pharmaceutical, fine chemical and advanced synthesis customers now have certainty of supply with no regulatory gap.
UK REACH registration demands detailed data on a substance's properties, uses and its impact on health and the environment. Clearing that bar confirms Synhydrid® meets the same standard globally and that Chematek can manage multi-jurisdiction compliance at the pace its markets require.
Synhydrid® is displacing pyrophoric reducing agents such as lithium aluminium hydride (LAH) and diisobutylaluminium hydride (DIBAL-H) across pharmaceutical, polymer and agrochemical synthesis. Its advantages over those reagents:
- Non-pyrophoric and air-stable, removing the risk of spontaneous ignition
- Extended shelf life
- Strong solubility across common solvents, simplifying handling and work-up
- Comparable reactivity to the reagents it replaces
This registration adds to Synhydrid®'s existing EU REACH approval. Chematek will keep expanding the product's regulatory footprint as new markets require it.
