Chematek has secured two separate regulatory expansions this year, one in the EU and one in the UK.
In Europe, Chematek's REACH approval for Dimethyl Disulfide (DMDS) has increased to 1,000 tonnes per annum, matching rising customer demand for the product. In the UK, Chematek has now registered three products under UK REACH:
- Dimethyl Disulfide (DMDS)
- Coumarin
- Solvent Yellow 124
DMDS (CAS 624-92-0) is a high-purity sulfur compound used as a sulfiding agent for catalysts in petrochemical refining, where it activates and protects hydroprocessing catalysts, and in the industrial synthesis of other sulfur-containing compounds. The higher EU volume means Chematek can respond to growing refinery and catalyst manufacturer demand without operating near the ceiling of its existing authorisation.
Securing that higher-volume registration required detailed technical submissions and robust safety data; passing it demonstrates the depth of Chematek's regulatory capability. Combined with the new UK registrations, it gives customers in both markets full supply certainty as the UK regulatory framework continues to develop independently of the EU's.
