Chematek has joined Consorzio Italbiotec, one of Italy's leading organisations for research, sustainable innovation and industrial progress in life sciences and biotechnology. For a company with deep roots in pharmaceutical chemistry, the membership is a logical next step into Italy's biotechnology and life sciences community, connecting Chematek with academic partnerships and collaborative research across that value chain.
The reducing agents, intermediates and specialty chemicals Chematek supplies to pharmaceutical and fine chemical customers are already essential tools in developing active pharmaceutical ingredients, biocatalyst systems and synthesis pathways that increasingly combine chemical and biological methods. Italbiotec puts Chematek inside the community having those conversations.
The company's academic partnership with the University of Nantes, which produced its 2025 peer-reviewed publication on Synhydrid®, already showed what this kind of collaboration can generate: real scientific output and the credibility that comes from working across academia and industry. Italbiotec offers Chematek's R&D and business development teams a structured route to build similar relationships closer to home.
The membership is the latest in a series of strategic affiliations, alongside ELITE, ItalyX, the UN Global Compact and CDP environmental disclosure, that Chematek has built to strengthen its position in the broader scientific and business community.
